Yoga
Brian has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 35 years and teaching it for over 33 years.
He met his Guru, Yogi Amrit Desai ('Amritji’), in 1987 while attending a yoga retreat at the Kripalu Institute for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts.
He then committed himself to living a yogic lifestyle based on the teachings of the traditional yogic lineage of Amritji’s Guru Swami Kripalvanandaji and in 1991 Amritji bestowed upon him the Sanskrit name Murari as a symbol of his devotion to the path of spiritual growth.
From 2015 through 2020 he acted as the Holistic Medical Director of the Amrit Yoga Institute in Salt Springs, FL where he gave treatments and taught workshops and lead retreats on Chakras, Tantra, Energy Medicine, Ayurveda, nutrition and fasting.
His teaching style blends his knowledge of anatomy and physiology, his experience of personal enlightenment and his knowledge of Kripalu Yoga, Amrit Yoga, Amrit Yoga Nidra, Amrit Yoga Therapy and the work of other master teachers such as ‘Sadhguru’ Jaggi Vasudeva, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar (‘Punditji’), Ram Dass, Micheal Singer, Alan Watts, Rupert Spira, Margot Anand, Louise Hay, Helena Feldenkrais and many others.
